The students of the Media Art Laboratory class have recently finished their Spring book project, 'A Day in Monza' and are proud to announce that their first book will be hitting the shelves of San Giuseppe later this month!
The project On March 9th, when the students took to the streets of Monza (with Prof. Éimear Doherty, of course!) for their first photography assignment. Their task was to use their digital cameras to try and capture the atmosphere, heart and spirit of Monza. The students did a fantastic job and all worked together to create a book which allows us to view Monza through their eyes!

You can preview the book and experience your very own Day in Monza by visiting the Blurb bookstore http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3199970. You can come and view the book in person from May 23rd in the school library (in the Metropolitan), which is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday! Some of the photographs and art work which feature in the book can also be seen on display on the veicolare corridor. The Media Art Laboratory class hope that you enjoy their book as much as they enjoyed making it!

Last week, the students of the Media Art Laboratory class created their very own hanging mobiles, inspired by the work of Alexander Calder http://calder.org/work/category/hangingmobile.html. This project was suggested to the class by one of the students (Matilde Fantacci) who is a fan of his work. The class split into two groups and raced to see who could complete their hanging mobile first. I think you will agree that both groups did a great job!
Many of the students used the work of Keith Haring (who the students did a project on in February) as inspiration for their mobile shapes, whose birthday was on Friday May 4th!
